WHY I GIVE
The testimonials below are reminder of “why I give” to cancer funded research. Your impact matters and changes lives.
Joy Brown, Registered Nurse, Former Nurse for Anthony Grinnell
Cancer is a battle that no one ever expects to have to fight. It changes everything. The life it chooses; the loved one or supportive friend; the healthcare worker, like me; each life touched by cancer is never left the same way as it was found. Which might be what empower healthcare professionals on; to continue to never give up, even when we feel defeated. For me, I have seen first-hand what research has offered patients. Whether it's a new immunotherapy, a targeted therapy, or advancements in supportive care, every breakthrough in treatment represents hope to those facing a cancer diagnosis. I have been an oncology nurse for over seven years, and it has fueled my passion to see the impact of cancer research on the community. Research doesn’t just save lives; it improves the quality of life for patients. I’ve seen the opportunity research has given patients to reach milestones with their loved ones that may not have been possible years ago. It has been a privilege to see the dedication provided by healthcare professionals when it comes to discovering new and innovative treatments for oncology patients. The research performed doesn’t only make a difference in lives today but offers hope for future generations. And while we will never experience complete healing while we are still absent from our Creator, we are given the opportunity to bring glimpses of what that will one day look like. To live in a new creation where cancer doesn’t just lose, it doesn’t exist. Until then, we continue the work set before us to bring hope and light to a dark world.
